Network Engineer

The Network Engineer role requires a highly technical individual proficient in various network technologies to develop, support, and maintain REMPREX network infrastructure. The Network Engineer consults with internal personnel to build, configure, and deploy network designs, specifies detailed plans to create and track project activities, and assists with the establishment of department standards and guidelines. The Network Engineer reports to the Information Technology (IT) Manager.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft® Windows® 2003, Microsoft® Exchange, Enterprise Security, Active Directory, Internet Information Services, and other network and telecommunication components. Additionally, the Network Engineer supports a network infrastructure comprised of Ethernet switching technologies.

The scope of the Network Engineer role includes the following procedures and tasks.

• Set up, configure, and support internal and external networks, including firewall, routers, switches, wireless, and other network infrastructure
  
• Develop and maintain systems, applications, security, and network configurations based on company requirements
  
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware used throughout the company
  
• Ensure the security and integrity of the organization through development and practice procedures of disaster recovery methods
  
• Support and maintain relocations, additions, and updates within the PBX system
  
• Proactively monitor health of servers using common network monitoring tools
  
• Maintain complete collections of network and system content for documentation
  
• Enforce network and group policies
  
• Manage and support the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
  

Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s Degree, or five years’ experience in similar role
  
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related area
  
• Solid technical understanding of network and system protocols including the following
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) / Internet Protocol (IP) - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) - Windows® Internet Name Service (WINS) - Domain Name Service (DNS)
• Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) - Virtual Local Access Network (VLAN) - Wireless Technologies
• Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), routers, point to point (PTP), and quality of service (QoS)
• Proven ability to integrate remote locations and users with existing networks
• Solid experience with network and systems protocol
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to support a team environment
• Experience using the Microsoft® platforms
• Driver’s License with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• VMwareTM ESX ServerTM experience strongly preferred, not required
• Cisco® experience preferred, not required
• LinuxTM experience preferred, not required
