Sr. Solutions Engineer

Requirements analysis, assessment, and design of complex hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing solutions for mid-size and multi-national enterprises. Provides oversight of technical solutions development for strategic accounts and provide life cycle management activities associated with ongoing solution design requirements; directs and assists various functional groups within Data Center Services with regards to solution development activities. Additional responsibilities include: associate technical training, vendor and trade show technical representation, preparation of statements of work, etc. Some travel required.

• Attends client meetings with NTTA’s direct sales staff to respond to technology-related questions, interactively perform needs analysis, and to make recommendations on most suitable hosting solutions/packages.
• Teams with Account Executives on the technical components of design and proposal generation for complex IT infrastructure management solutions.
• Manage development of technical solutions with Partners/Vendors and internal technical groups.
• Interfaces with various groups within NTTA and with manager to provide feedback on trends and client needs, and to ensure that NTTA continues to produce services that match the changing market.
• Provides technical presentations at company, industry and customer focus seminars.
• Serves as technical expert and resource for sales staff and other Solutions Engineers.
• 6-10 years experience as a Sales Engineer/Technical Consultant for an ITO specialist, Systems Integrator, or MSP.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written, and teamwork skills, including the ability to work with executive level decision makers.
• Proven ability to analyze customer needs and develop creative and sustainable solutions.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to achieve goals without constant supervision.
• Core skills desired: proven knowledge of data center systems technologies: IP networking (LAN/WAN, content delivery optimization technologies), network security best practices, industry standard server platforms and associated operating systems such as: Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Solaris, AIX), clustering and storage technologies including SAN, NAS, SSD.
• Specialized skills desired: server virtualization platforms, specifically VMware vSphere/VCD; proven experience with design or advocacy of cloud computing architectures; cloud orchestration platforms considered a plus.
• Experience with change management and life cycle management models (ITIL), regulatory compliance standards, and disaster recovery methods and procedures/services.
• Multiple technical or industry certifications preferred (Preferred: CISSP, CCNA/CCDP,VCP, BCP)
• Computer Science, Systems or Software Engineering, Information Systems BA or BS preferred.
